Inside the Studio, Behind the Scenes

Who We Are

Customized Wedding Creations is not by any means a big company.  In fact, the core of the company is me (Cherin for those of you who don’t know me),

That's me, with brush and paint in hand!

my husband and assistant painter, Andrew,

and my father the financial guru, Frank.

The three of us make up Customized Wedding Creations with the bulk of the work laying on my shoulders.  When you have a question, quote request, concern, etc., I am the one who will answer your emails.  I generally paint most of the orders, with Andrew doing one or two each week.

Where the Magic Happens

The third floor of our house is the Customized Wedding Creations Studio.  It’s a tight area all things considered, but I’m happy to be able to work out of my home.  I wish I’d cleaned up more before taking these pictures, but you get to see the studio in its glory this way.

The Work Space

The Work Space

We have two work tables and a number of other tables up there.  Thankfully the two main tables are on wheels…since I like to move mine to watch tv while working (such a bad habit!).

This is one of the four (yes, four) computers we have…two of them were actually upstairs when I took this picture, but only one is shown.  That mess of papers on the desk is nothing…just look at the stack below the table top.  I really need to file them!

Paint Shelf...the last one standing

If you didn’t know our products were hand-painted, you do now!  This is our last remaining shelf of paint as all of the others have fallen down.  Now the paint is scattered all over the place, as seen here…

So much paint it's still sitting in bags!

There's more paint in the drawers, on top, etc...so much!

And who could forget the brushes...and more paint of course!

Aside from all the paint, we also store our runners and other fabrics up here too.  Since we don’t have much space, we can only keep on hand the runners we have on order.  Right now the shelves are pretty empty because we just ordered a whole bunch more, but here’s where we keep them…

And who could forget all the boxes we go through?  This is just a small sampling…we must swim in cardboard.  We try to recycle whenever we can, so here the boxes are stashed in front of the ribbon chest (there are about 100 spools of ribbon in the chest behind the boxes).

Oh the cardboard!

Oh the cardboard!

So, that’s it.  I hope you enjoyed the little sneak peek behind the scenes at Customized Wedding Creations!

  • Any artist with a clean studio is an artist who is on break LOL

You should see the floor in my office/studio. the wheels on my office chair are entwined with ribbon, and elastic LOL

It’s so funny that you should post about you and your office/studio – i was just thinking of doing that yesterday but didn’t take any pictures as of yet

I blogged today and you are included in it. :) hope you like it.

It’s not the HCC feature that I would like to do in the future. But it’s something totally different.
